37 high school graduates, including several from the Parkland, received $500 scholarships from Fusion Credit Union, as part of the company's ongoing commitment to supporting youth and education. 
The recipients not only excelled academically, but also showed strong leadership, community involvement, and a desire to make a positive impact.

Since its inception, the Fusion Credit Union Scholarship program has awarded over $118,000 in funds to graduating students who are pursuing post-secondary education.
Residents in the City of Dauphin are being made aware that a Dutch Elm Disease survey and Elm Firewood monitoring is currently taking place. 
Provincial inspectors are making their way around both public and private properties to look for Dutch Elm Disease-infected trees and elm firewood with bark attached, which is illegal to store.
The Inspectors, who will be wearing high-visibility vests and government-issued identification, may be working in the evenings and on weekends.
They will ring doorbells or knock on doors, prior to taking any branch samples, marking Dutch Elm Disease-infected trees, or marking elm firewood for removal

Gilbert Plains Municipality is asking those connected to their G3 Regional Water Treatment Facility to limit their water use until further notice. 

The facility is currently experiencing production issues, and work is currently underway to fix the issue. 

You are asked to avoid all non-essential activities, such as watering lawns, washing your car, or filling pools for the time being. 

The G3 Regional Water Treatment Facility is connected to homes in the Municipalities of Gilbert Plains nad Grandview, as well as some homes in the RM of Dauphin.  

Today is your last opportunity to purchase your Canada's National Ukrainian Festival passes in-person, from the Festival office at the Dauphin Marketplace Mall. 

The offices closes at 4:30pm after that, you only have until July 30 th  to purchase your advance tickets online at cnuf.ca. The festival office will be closed all next week.

Tickets at the gate will cost you more money, starting Thursday July 31 st   at 1pm.

Quick reminder this year, there is no upper parking because of the expanded upper camping. All parking will be down below near the main gates, with an on-site shuttle to transport patrons to and from the main entrance, starting at 8am each day.  

Canada’s National Ukrainian Festival's 60 th  Anniversary will be celebrated at the Selo Festival Site from August 1 st  to 3 rd .

The third annual Ethelbert Party on Hot Roddin' Car Show takes place this Sunday. 
Co-organizer Al Anthony says they are expecting a big turnout this weekend.
"The first two years, we averaged close to 70 vehicles.  And because of the response around the area, we have been told to expect well over 100 and possibly close to 125 vehicles.  So we are basically booking on 125." 
All varieties of vehicles and motorcycles can participate in the show.
Registration begins at 11 am on Sunday, with the show going from noon to 4. 
There is no cost to attend. 

Dauphin MLA and provincial Agriculture Minister Ron Kostyshyn took part in two special announcements on Wednesday.

Kostyshyn, along with Federal Agriculture Minister Heath McDonaald, announced support measures to aid Manitoba livestock and grain producers affected by drought conditions this year.  

Manitoba Agriculture Services Corporation is going to provide support measures through its AgriInsurance program, which will improve cash flow for producers needing to secure additional feed for their livestock. 

Kostyshyn says producers looking to access some of this support should contact their closest MASC office shortly.  

"And get the real serious details about what is required.  But I think time is of the essence right now for the benefit of the beef producers, to make some arrangements with the grain producers, or even possibly within their own farming operations."  

Also on Wednesday,the federal and provincial governments announced a 6 million dollar investment in sustainable food production and food production facilities. 

Canada's National Ukrainian Festival is just over a week away, and preparations are falling into place for the unofficial kick off to that event. 

The annual Parkland Chamber of Commerce Street Fair takes place on July 31st along 1st Avenue Northwest.

Chamber Interim Executive Director Carissa Caruk-Ganchar says it will once again be a very busy day.

"We have over 50 vendors already registered for this year, so we are sold out, which was fantastic.  We have a mix of makers, merchants, food vendors and community organizations that will be set up throughout the day.  We kick things off with Fort Dauphin Museum hosting a pancake breakfast at 7am, The McDonalds Kids Zone will run from 9 until 5.  And a new piece that we are adding for that area specifically this year is the Watson Art Centre is hosting a youth open mic session that begins at 11 am."

The lineup of entertainment for the day has been finalized and will be announced on social media in the coming days.

Caruk-Ganchar says they still need a few volunteers to help out that day.

Residents of The Town of Swan River are being advised that the Town will be flushing water mains throughtout the town from the end of July through August, daily between 730am and 430pm.

Residents may notice pressure fluctuations and a temporary discolouration of the water. If you notice discolouration, please run the water until it is clear again.

Residents in Ebb & Flow have elected their next Chief and Council.

Wayne Desjarlais received 594 votes to hang on to the Chief position, with Arlene Mousseau finishing a close second at 500, and Judy Levasseur finished third.

In the race for the four Council positions, Darrell Mousseau collected the most votes, among the 19 Council candidates, at 493.

Rounding out Council will be Brenda Baptiste with 429 votes, Darren Mousseau at 421, and John Houle at 342.

Just in time for this weekend's Fair and Rodeo, the Municipality of McCreary has announced that it is lifting the boil water advisory for the area. 

The advisory was put into place last week after water line repairs in the community were completed. 

Following rigorous testing and assessments, the drinking water officer has confirmed that the public water system in McCreary meets all conditions required to resume regular use and consumption.

The Municipality thanks all residents for their patience.  

A number of activities are being planned for this Saturday in Moosehorn to celebrate the official grand opening of Wayside Park.

It includes campsites, bathrooms and showers, a canteen and a playground. 

RM of Grahamdale Economic Development officer Jacqueline Kiesman says the park has already been open for about a year.

"So far, the community has really loved the playground, the campsites have been going strong since spring, they have been fully booked.  And it is really nice to have a washroom right there near both sites so that people can use it throughout the day.or the weekend.   It is also great having a kitchen there if people want to book and have a fun event."

The grand opening celebrations go from 10 until 3 on Saturday, and include a free lunch, bouncy castles, vendor booths, community wide yard sales, and an inflatable fire safety display.
