A 26-year-old woman from Russell is facing drug charges after a traffic stop by the Manitoba First Nations Police Service (MFNPS).
Around midnight on May 6th, officers from the Waywayseecappo Detachment pulled over a van because of the Curfew by-law.
The man driving the car consented to a search, and police discovered a purse containing two pipes, a small torch, Tylenol 3’s and a pill bottle with a powdered substance believed to be cocaine.
The purse belonged to a woman in the vehicle, who was then arrested for Possession of Cocaine, and also charged under the Emergency Measures Act – Curfew By-Law.
She was released on conditions for a court date of August 5, 2020.
