Public Health officials have announced there are two new cases of the virus in Manitoba.

This brings the total number of confirmed and probable cases to 289. There are four people in hospital, and one individual is in intensive care.

There are 35 active cases, and the number of deaths due to COVID-19 remains at 7.

Over the weekend, two more cases were identified as part of the workplace cluster at a trucking company in Brandon. Public Health officials say the affected staff and their close contacts are self-isolating, and detailed contact tracing continues.

There have been a total of 26 COVID cases in the Prairie Mountain Health region.

As of May 10, there have been 1,294 COVID-19 tests conducted in Brandon. The Dauphin drive-thru screening site has conducted 270 tests; while Swan River has conducted 35 tests.

Chief Provincial Public health officer Dr. Brent Roussin says it's vital that people stay home and avoid going out if they are ill, or showing respiratory symptoms.
