A diver has died in Manitoba's Whiteshell Provincial Park.

R-C-M-P say the 55-year-old man from Winnipeg was conducting a recreational dive with his wife at West Hawk Lake on Saturday afternoon when the accident occurred.

The man was pulled from the water and later pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators believe the diver may have run out of air and suffered a medical issue as he surfaced.

Jagmeet Singh has won the NDP federal leadership ballot.
