Edmonton Police are investigating what has been described as acts of terrorism that occurred last night.

At the Edmonton Eskimos game reports came in that a man rammed a Chevrolet Malibu into a police vehicle station hitting an officer at a routine traffic blockade around 8:15 p.m.

The driver then jumped out of the vehicle and proceeded to stab the officer with a knife before running away.

It was discovered that an ISIS flag had been left behind in the car.

Then just before midnight a U-Haul truck was pulled over by police and the recognized the name on the driver’s licence as being similar to the registered owner of the car in the crash earlier.

Upon the discovery, the driver of the U-Haul sped off and police were involved in a high-speed chase that ended with a U-Haul truck hitting four pedestrians and crashed onto its side with the suspected arrested.

The police and other security agents believe the man acted alone and are investigating the incidents as acts of terrorism.

The police officer is in stable condition and the medical condition of the pedestrians have not been released at this time.
