Many different Parkland communities will be hosting a variety of different events tomorrow for Canada Day.

There are a variety of different Canada Day celebrations going on throughout the Parkland.

In light of the Minister of Health Kelvin Goertzen's recent announcement of a new Provincial Health Organization, there will be changes being implemented to the health region authorities.

The Riding Mountain Challenge MS National Bike Tour will be taking off from Dauphin on September 9th.

34 farms have tested positive so far in the current outbreak of Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea Virus in Manitoba.

Hot dogs and a rainbow auction will be taking place on June 16th to raise money for 3 charities that have made an impact on the lives of a Dauphin family. 

Shop it forward which is put on by the Dauphin and District Chamber of Commerce is proving to be a success.
 
In the campaign, local businesses and customers come together to support the Parkland community through shopping local.
 
Stephen Chychota talks about how the campaign is going. 
 
"So far it has been great. A lot of positive responses from the business side of things, and also a lot of interaction through social media with people making their posts."
 
So far the Chamber has given out Chamber bucks to 4 lucky winners, with 2 more prizes being given out in the next two weeks.
 
Anyone wanting to participate just has to use the "#ShopParkland" when they are at participating businesses. 

The thunderstorms which blew through western Manitoba Friday and Saturday knocked out power to thousands of customers in Killarney and the surrounding area, according to Manitoba Hydro's Twitter feed.  Others report at least one tornado touching down in the area, causing damage to a campground, trees, and a large grain bin. 730CKDM subscribes to the NAAD Emergency Public Alerting System, and will automatically alert the Parkland to possible danger as Environment Canada deems suitable.

Residents in Dauphin can expect a tax bill in the mail in the next few days.

The address was delivered at the Chamber of Commerce Lunch series meeting held at the Watson Arts Centre.
 
Mayor Irwin says taxes will not be raised this year.
 
"The good news is we didn't raise taxes. Again, I was elected in 2010, and since then, we've lowered taxes 15%, and in the last couple of years we haven't raised them and we haven't had to."
 
Mayor Irwin mentioned having $1.2 million worth of road construction to take place in Dauphin.
 
Irwin also talked about installing 50 kilo-watt solar project to run the pumps at the lift station in the north end, the first of its kind in the region.
