If you notice the colour yellow to day more then usual, it's not a coincidence.
The last Thursday of April marks International Yellow T-Shirt Day, which was founded by a current local Parkland resident.
The Parkland Poet encourages all individuals across the globe to participate in the annual event.
"International Yellow T-Shirt Day is something I started with a bunch of friends at Vincent Massey Collegiate in Winnipeg back in 1979 [...] It's the 38th annual International Yellow T-Shirt Day today, and basically all it is it's a day the world can unite by wearing the colour yellow not for any particular reason, not for any particular issue, just to celebrate spring and just to feel good and be a part of something."
Poet also says they chose the last day Thursday of April because of it's association to spring.
