Just a day after the US Presidential Election, the Rural Municipality of Pipestone west of Brandon saw a spike on their Facebook page from American users looking into housing.
Tanis Chalmers, economic development officer for the RM, says they've always had inquiries but mainly from Canadians.
"We've had our 10 dollar lot program going on for about eight years, we've always had at least one inquiry a day mostly from across Canada but yesterday we did see an increase in inquiries from the United States."
Chalmers feels the influx of interest was in direct response to the election of Donald Trump as US President, and is expecting more hits in the coming days.
