Nominations are open for an annual young farmers award, if you think you're outstanding enough.

Angie Fox, Regional Administrator for Manitoba Outstanding Young Farmer says to be eligible you have to be between 18 and 39, 2 thirds of your income must be derived from farming, and you must have an ownership stake in the operation. She says there are environmental and community involvement criteria as well.

"All those things compiled together on a points system, and then there is a panel of judges and you do an interview (and) a PowerPoint presentation and from there the panel of three judges picks a winner."
