You won't have to go to court for a number of bylaw infractions in the City of Dauphin.
The Municipal By-law Enforcement Act was proclaimed on August 8th. It is designed to give municipalities the ability to process and resolve bylaw contraventions with administrative penalties instead of court proceedings.
Assistant administrative officer Sharla Griffiths says the city is now in a stage in which they choose which bylaws they enforce under that act.
"We have chosen to look at infractions on bylaws associated with business licences, noise, animal control, and off-road vehicles."
Griffiths says the parking ticket section of the act hasn't been proclaimed yet, but that will be added once it is.
