Colour Takes Off In Dauphin
Today Dauphin will be getting down and colourful.
The third annual Color Blast 5k fun run / walk has finally arrived, with all proceeds raised today going towards Skate Dauphin.
Run Coordinator, Kevin Steinbach encourages residents who are not participating in the run to make their way to the Grand Stand and check things out.
Registration begins at 8:30 am near the Rotary Arena with the run starting at 10 am.

Wannabe Goalie Robs Russell Beer Store
A beer store earlier this month in Russell had some unexpected visitors.
RCMP were called to the C-Centre Gas Bar, where two men allegedly broke into the store after hours and stole three cases of beer - one man dressed in full hockey gear.
Store Manager, Jean Betkey says thankfully she was contacted immediately of the incident.
Betkey estimates damages to the store could range from $1,500 to $1,800 dollars.

Manitoba Indigenous Men Switched At Birth
Federal Health Minister Jane Philpott says Ottawa will set up a third-party investigation after evidence indicates two men from a northern Manitoba First Nation were switched at birth.
David Tait Jr. was born three days after Leon Swanson in the winter of 1975 at the Norway House Indian Hospital.
Manitoba's former aboriginal affairs minister Eric Robinson says it was the same facility where two other men obtained D-N-A evidence showing they were also switched the same year.
Robinson says even though it's been 40 years a federally run hospital should still have records.

Manitoba Man Rescued In Alaska
Authorities in Alaska say a Manitoba man has been rescued near an abandoned bus made famous by the book and film "Into the Wild.''
The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reports 22-year-old Matthew Sharp was rescued after he was unable to hike back because of minor injuries and high river levels.
Alaska State Troopers say a personal locator beacon registered to Sharp was activated early Thursday morning. Troopers responded by helicopter and found Sharp, who was flown to Fairbanks.
"Into the Wild'' chronicled the life and death of 24-year-old Chris McCandless, who hiked into the Alaska wilderness in April 1992 with little food and equipment. He was found starved to death in the bus almost four months later.

Harper Quits
Former prime minister Stephen Harper has resigned as a member of Parliament, bringing his political career to a close.
The 57-year-old, who had chosen to stay on as an MP for his Calgary riding after stepping down as Conservative leader, made the announcement in a video posted on social media.
He says he is grateful for the years he has had in Parliament. Harper will now move into consulting on international issues alongside two of his most trusted former advisers.
