Manitoba has now recorded over 31,000 total cases of COVID-19 with 76 new cases announced today.
Only one death is being reported — a man in his 80s from the Winnipeg health region related to an outbreak at St. Boniface Hospital.
Since March, the province says there have been a total of 60 cases of COVID-19 in the Dauphin health district — with two deaths and one case still considered active.
Today’s new COVID-19 cases are from the following health districts:
• five cases in Interlake–Eastern health region
• 44 cases in the Northern health region
• two cases in the Prairie Mountain Health region
• two cases in the Southern Health–Santé Sud health region
• 23 cases in the Winnipeg health region
The current five-day COVID-19 test positivity rate in Manitoba is 5.9% provincially and 4.3% in Winnipeg. The total number of lab-confirmed cases in Manitoba is 31,007.
There are 1,555 active cases and 28,576 individuals who have recovered from COVID-19.
There are 89 people in hospital with active COVID-19 as well as 142 people in hospital who are no longer infectious but continue to require care (231 hospitalizations total).
There are 15 people in intensive care units with active COVID-19 as well as 13 people who are no longer infectious but continue to require critical care (28 ICU patients total).
The total number of deaths in people with COVID-19 is 876.
According to the province’s data, there are active cases in the following Parkland health districts: Dauphin (1), Swan River (0), Porcupine Mountain (4), Duck Mountain (0), Asessippi (13), and Agassiz Mountain (1). Brandon has 10 active cases.
In the Interlake, the Eriksdale/Ashern health district has 13 active cases, while Fisher/Peguis has 27.
