The Manitoba Métis Federation is holding a Pink Shirt Day poster contest to encourage the community to stand up against bullying. Anyone who is interested is encourage to submit an entry.
"Our community poster contest is open to all community members of all ages, participants are invited to create a pink poster sharing what they think pink shirt means to them," said Frances Chartrand, Manitoba Métis Federation Northwest Region Vice President.
Chartrand also mentioned how important Pink Shirt Day is, and what the Manitoba Métis Federation is focusing on this year.
"Pink Shirt Day serves as an important reminder that bullying has no place in our community. This year our focus is on not only awareness, but action, encouraging people to show kindness and respect in everyday moments," Chartrand said.
The contest deadline is today at 4 PM. Pink Shirt Day is held across Canada on February 25th.
