Today is the last day to sign up for the Traditional Medicines Teaching Presentation at the Dauphin Friendship Centre, hosted by Red Road Compass.
Shawn Charlebois, owner and operator of Red Road Compass, said the presentation will be very interactive.
"I'll be bringing all kinds of medicines and plants in the raw form, in the processed form, we get to pass them around, people get to smell them, they get to touch them, then there's explanations on harvesting and location, and then there's also discussion about usage," Charlebois said.
One of many benefits of the presentation being so hands-on is to get people interested in traditional medicines.
"It's a very hands-on, community involved presentation to spark curiosity," said Charlebois.
He also says his personal connections to the topic will only make the presentation and teaching even better.
"It's something that's very personal to us, in our family we're harvesters and we're on the land a lot, and it's just a way for us to share that passion with others," Charlebois said.
