It was another successful regular season for the Grandview Comets, and a big reason for that was Dallas Drysdale.
The 26-year-old defencemen chipped in 11 points (1G) in 13 games, this season, with the Comets and, thanks to his efforts, he was named to the second team All-Star roster.
"It's a pretty good feeling," said Drysdale. "I get to play with a lot of skilled players, so I just put the puck on their stick and they finish it. It definitely feels good to get noticed."
Drysdale, and the rest of the Comets, will now prepare for their first-round playoff matchup against Foxwarren.
"Our team is a little older, compared to Foxwarren," said Drysdale. "So, we're just going to try and wear them down, get the puck behind their defenders, and put it in the back of the net."
Game time on Friday is set for 8:45, at the GACC.

The North Central Hockey League has released it's first-round playoff matchups, and first-up for the Grandview Comets is a best-of-five against the Foxwarren Falcons.
The Comets finished up their regular season two weekends ago, with a 6-3 win, which pushed their record to 11-4-1, good enough for third place in the league.
In the regular season, the Comets hooked up with the Falcons twice, winning both games, by a combined score of 13-6.

It was a busy weekend at Gilbert Plains Collegiate, as the varsity girls and boys held their basketball tournament.
The varsity boys ended up winning the Championship, as they beat Virden in the final.
The varsity girls came up short in the final, against Goose Lake from Roblin.

It came down to the wire, and the Neepawa Jr Rec hockey team headed back to Neepawa Champions, after beating DRHL Jr Parkland Source for Sports, 6-5, in the gold medal game, at the DRHL Jr Tournament in town, yesterday.
Myles Willerton ended up scoring three goals for Neepawa, in the win.

The Dauphin Clippers are heading into their regular-season finale with four-straight wins.
They ended up beating the Sandy Bay Badgers, last night, in one of the crazier games all season, 8-7, in a shootout.
Riley Hammond led the Clippers with two goals. Logan Storey, Austin Storey, Wade Kopytko, Hunter Glover and Drayson Kruk all scored one for the team in the game.
In the shootout, Kopytko and Hammond found the back of the net.
The Clippers will now be back on home ice on Tuesday, against Souris, and the puck drops at 8:30.

The Parkland Rangers led last night, once again, but, once again, they couldn't hold it, as the Kenora Thistles staged a big comeback, to stun the hometown Rangers, 4-3, in overtime.
A first-period goal from Kurtis Luke, and another goal from Luke in the second, followed by one from Cole Haukaas, had the Rangers up, 3-0, heading into the third.
In the third, it was all Thistles, as they scored three goals in the game's final 14:09, to push the game into overtime.
In OT, the Thistles capped off the huge comeback as they scored the winner 2:42 in.
Picking up a point, combined with a Southwest loss, did help the Rangers gain some ground, but making the playoffs, at this point, is a high hope.
With just five games remaining, the Rangers are nine points back of a playoff spot, but a favourable schedule could give the team some hope.
After welcoming Yellowhead to town on Wednesday, the team travels to take on Pembina Valley twice, next weekend, before finishing the season with two-straight, against the eighth-place Cougars, in a home and home.

It was, no doubt, the best game of the season, tonight, for the Dauphin Kings, as they beat the league-best, Steinbach Pistons, 4-3, in overtime.
The Kings came out firing in the first, and it paid off, as Thomas Hansell put the Kings up 1-0, just over five minutes in. Bradyn Smelski added a goal late in the first, for the Kings, as they led, 2-0, after 20.
The Pistons came back in the second, with two quick goals, to tie it up at two.
Wilson Northey regained the lead for the Kings, with just 22 seconds left in the second, as the Kings led, 3-2, after 40.
Off a Kings turnover in the third, the Pistons tied it up at three, to push the game into overtime.
After Brennan Kitchen made a huge save in overtime, McCullough Park got away on a breakway, and went five-hole for the win!
Kitchen made 52 saves in the win.
The Pistons entered the game as the fourth ranked team in the Country.

A loss may not mathematically eliminate them, but when the Parkland Rangers hit the ice this afternoon, it's nearly a must-win as they conclude their two-game weekend against the Kenora Thistles.
Last night against the Thistles, the Rangers scored first but gave up two straight as the Thistles picked up two points.
With just six games remaining in the regular season, the Rangers find themselves 10 points back of a playoff spot.
After tonight, the Rangers are on home ice on Wednesday against Yellowhead, before heading on the road next weekend for two games.
The action all kicks off at 2:30 at Credit Union Place.

The Dauphin Kings will look for a full 60-minute effort tonight, when they visit the league-best Steinbach Pistons.
In last night's 8-1 loss, the Kings played a good first and third period, but a poor second period was the difference in the game.
The Kings will be making just their second trip to Steinbach this season, with the first being way back in September.
The last time the Kings hooked up with the Pistons was at the MJHL Showcase, when the Pistons beat the Kings, 3-0.

The Parkland Rangers scored first, but they couldn't hold it, as they fell, 2-1, against the Kenora Thistles.
Carter Cockburn put the Rangers up 1-0, with just 0:02 left in the first, as the Rangers led after one.
The Thistles tied it up midway through the second, as the two teams were tied after 40.
The Thistles scored 1:01 into the third, and that was the only goal of the period, as the Rangers failed to gain any ground.
