Novice Dauphin Bullets Win B-Side Final!

The Parkland Source for Sports Novice Classic will wrap up today, but not without some hardware for the Dauphin Bullets, as they won the B-Side Final earlier today.

They thumped the Swan River Broncos, 9-2, in the game.

Desperation is the word that could be used when referring to the Parkland Rangers, heading into their game today.

The Rangers are back on home ice against the Pembina Valley Hawks, and momentum is not on the side of the Rangers.

Coming into this afternoon's tilt, Parkland has lost two straight games, and 11 of their last 13, which now has them 12 points back of a playoff spot, with just 16 points left, if the team were to win out.

When the puck drops this afternoon at 2:00 pm, it will be the first of four straight games on home ice for the Rangers.

After kicking-off their Piper Classic with a loss, two-straight wins have pushed the Dauphin Clippers into the B-Side Final this afternoon in Winnipeg.

The Clippers are coming off wins, against John Taylor and Murdoch MacKay, heading into this afternoon's game.

Puck drop is set for 2:00 this afternoon, at the Bell MTS Iceplex, against College Jeanne-Sauve.

The Dauphin Clippers hockey team continued their Piper Classic, earlier today in Winnipeg, and won their only game of the day, 4-2.

Alex Iwanchysko led the team with two goals. Ty Hassel and Riley Hammond scored, one each, in the win.

It’s going to be an uphill battle if the Parkland Rangers want to make the playoffs this year, and the hill got bigger, as they lost to the Central Plains Capitals, 5-2, earlier today.

Neither team found the back of the net in the first, and only the Capitals did in the second, as they busted out with three goals to lead, 3-0, after 40.

Reece Hopfner and Jaeger Lapointe scored two goals for the Rangers in the third, to bring the team back within one, but the Capitals rebounded with two goals to seal the game.

The Grandview Comets trailed by as many as two goals, but they battled back in a big way, by beating the Rivers Jets, 6-3, tonight at the GACC.

Jerron Kyle led the Comets with two goals.

Comets captain, TJ Warkentin also added a goal for the Comets. Derek Pulock, Chris Porter, and Joran Hedley scored the team's other goals in the game.

With the win, the Comets finished their regular season with two-straight wins, and an 11-4-1 record, heading into the playoffs.

The Dauphin Kings led, and played well, but ended up falling, 5-3, against the Selkirk Steelers tonight at Credit Union Place.

Matt Bartel continued his impressive play, as of late, as he put the Kings up, just 5:01 into the game, but the Steelers came back late in the period, as the Steel town boys and Kings were tied, at one, after 20.

In the second 20, the Steelers scored the first goal of the period, but the Kings came back, as Wilson Northey potted a shot, and the two teams remained tied, after 40, at two.

The Steelers took the lead in the third, but the Kings once again tied it up, as Mason Fischer potted his fifth of the season.

The Steelers then scored the next goal, and this time, they didn't allow Dauphin to come back, as they potted one more to pick up two points.

The Kings are back on the ice on Tuesday, as they welcome the Portage Terriers to town, and puck drop is set for 7:30.
