Ahead of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL) draft which is set for this weekend, teams in the league had an opportunity to Auto-Protect two players.
The Dauphin Kings and Swan Valley Stampeders both protected two Parkland stars each.
Dauphin Kings:
With their first protect, the Dauphin Kings nabbed Hayden Shtykalo. From Dauphin, Hayden is coming off a tremendous season with Rink Hockey Academy's U17 team, where he had 19 goals and 14 assists in just 30 games.
The Dauphin star also had 76 points in 39 games two seasons ago with the Parkland U15 Rangers.
Following Hayden, Dauphin protected Quinten Fisk. He played in all 44 games this past season with the U18 Rangers, recording nine goals and eight assists.
Two seasons ago with the U15 team, Fisk had 50 points in 39 games.
Swan Valley Stampeders:
With their first protection, the Stampeders selected hometown star Trace Langan.
Langan, who dominated in his last season with the U15 Rangers two years ago, collected 16 points in 30 games this past season with Prairie Hockey Academy.
Swan Valley then protected Alex Campbell, who is coming off a great year with the U18 Rangers. He had 10 points and missed just one game this past season.
The league will now host its Annual General Meeting this weekend which includes the MJHL Draft on Sunday morning.
