The Dauphin Clippers hockey team came up short on Thursday as they returned to tournament play at the Vic Inn tournament in Brandon.
Three different Clippers scored in a hard-fought 5-3 defeat to the Dryden Eagles. Tyron Sweetman, Norman Lacquette, and Jordan Height scored for Dauphin. It was a one-goal game late until Dryden sealed the game with an empty net goal.
The Clippers will now go up against the powerhouse Garden City Fighting Gophers on Friday morning.
