For the third time in a week, the Dauphin Kings and Virden Oil Capitals will battle it out.

Dauphin enters Friday's game on a tear, winning their last five games. The Oil Capitals; meanwhile, have dropped their last two games, both against Dauphin last weekend. The Kings and Wolverines enter this weekend in a tie for the top spot in the West Division with 16 points each while with their nine points, Virden is in a tie for third with Swan Valley.

On Thursday, Dauphin announced the addition of Klim Georgiev. In the 2019-20 season playing with the Toronto Jr Canadiens in the OJHL, Klim had 24 points — seven of which were goals — in 48 games.

Dauphin has yet to lose a game on home ice, going 5-0. The team has scored 21 goals at Credit Union Place this season, while their seven against is the best in the West. Dauphin's also 33.3 percent on the power play on home ice this season and that's tied for the best in the league with the Winkler Flyers.

The Oil Capitals are 1-3-1 away from Tundra Oil & Gas Place and they're -9 on the road with 14 goals for and 23 against.

Doug Hedley had this to say ahead of the game as the two teams open a weekend home-and-home.

"We have to be really defensively aware and we have to bring our best game," said Hedley. "We can't give up odd-man rushes, they have some great skill and they make some great plays around the net. We have to put pressure on them and not give them any great chances."

Dauphin leads the season series 2-0 heading into the game. After Friday's game, the two teams will head back to Tundra Oil & Gas Place on Saturday night.
