The holidays can be a stressful time of year.

Eleanor Snitka, Outreach Worker for the Mood Disorders Association of Manitoba talks about some of the reasons why the stress level increases and what people can do about it.

“Just having the stress and the rushing around we can put a lot of stress on ourselves because we think we have to keep up with the Joneses or what’s on the TV. Sometimes that’s not possible. Sometimes, and this is a biggie for me, we have to learn how to day ‘no’ to people. Sometimes we say ‘yes’ and then we’re so tired and we feel resentful and overwhelmed we don’t have fun when we say ‘yes’ to things.”
