Many are left wondering what the status is of the MRI machine that was to come to Dauphin.

The response the province has given the public is that they are currently waiting on the Wait Times Task Force report before making a decision.
Manitoba NDP Leader, Wab Kinew, shares with us, what his party has learned about the report.

“We got some documents through freedom of information requests that showed that the Wait Times Task Force report made its way to the minister at the end of September, September 29th. They’ve delayed the final decision on this MRI machine to give themselves 3 more months to review this, so basically kicking the can down the road to the end of December. We first learned about this, as I’ve said, through freedom of information requests and brought it up in Question Period yesterday, our Health Critic Andrew Swan brought it up. And the Minister confirmed it in the house saying that he had seen the report, he has seen this task force report, he has it in hand but he is still not going to make a move for 3 more months.”

Having the MRI machine in Dauphin would allow for northern and remote communities to not have to travel a great distance to have the procedure done.
