Pride week in Riding Mountain National Park wraps up today.

There is only a couple more hours of RMNP Pride Week events to take in, for this year. Having experiences like this are important according to Cal Martin, the visitor experience manager at the park.

“It’s really important because our national parks exist for all Canadians to enjoy. Part of the government wide celebrations of Canada 150 it’s about diversity and inclusion of all people in Canada. And we want the same feeling of celebration of diversity and inclusion for all people in our national parks for people to come and enjoy. It’s about people being proud of who they are but recognizing the wonderful mess of diversity among humans.”

Pride Week in Riding Mountain National Park began on Tuesday. It is the first pride week held in a national park.
