Pride week in Riding Mountain National Park is currently going on in Wasagaming.
On Saturday the Parkland Prairie Pride group is holding an event during the day as part of their contribution to supporting inclusivity in Manitoba. Saturday will be a busy and fun day according to Terra Matthews administrative assistant at the Friendship Centre.
“Our friends from the Sexuality Education Resource Centre, which is SERC, we’re going to be joining them from 4 to 6 pm at the Disco Dome. It’s 135 Wasagaming, so it’s right at the Administrative building. We’re going to be making buttons between 4 and 6 but there is also going to be wonderful events earlier, at 1 to 4, is going to be a family block party happening. We’re hoping that people are going to come out and show some support and have some fun. If you’re allies, or if you have family members or just a concerned citizen that loves their community, we’re going to be there supporting one another and having some fun.”
Matthews encourages everybody to attend saying everyone is welcome to come to Wasagaming and participate in the many inclusive family events taking place on the weekend.
