Using drones in the agriculture industry is becoming more prominent with advancements in the aerial technology.

Transportation Canada has set out many rules to follow if someone is thinking about implementing drone technology into their operation. There is a bright future for the equipment according to Matthew Johnson president of M3 Aerial Productions.

“Spraying is going to be something that is coming in the next few years, I would say. It’s not quite here yet. Although one of the students that came through our program is the first and only person to ever get a special flight operations certificate for areal application of pesticides and fertilizer. So, it is coming."

A course that teaches the proper way to fly drones and all of the Transportation Canada rules is now being offered at the University of Bandon. M3 Aerial Productions also offers courses on the legal way to fly drones throughout the year.
