The new T.A. Burrows Museum building officially opened up yesterday in Grandview.

Members of the Burrows family, the Burrows Mill Lumber Company, the Winnipeg Foundation and members of the community came out to tour the new addition.

Nancy Ziprick, great-granddaughter of T.A. Burrows, notes how they family came out for the T.A.. Burrows Re-enactment two years ago which set this project into motion.

“We were and that was part of our inspiration to come back and help with the museum. It was very overwhelming actually. A few months earlier my daughter had come home from school and said she needed to do a presentation on a Canadian who made a difference. And I said to her, “well what are your class mates doing”, and they said a lot of athletes and so on, and I said, “why don’t we do your great-great-grandfather”. And she said, “well who is he”. And I said “well were going to find out.” So we did the presentation, and it wasn’t but a month or 2 later that  we got the call to come up here for the re-enactment and homecoming and it was very overwhelming. It brought it all to life."

Visitors can tour the new building during museum hours.
