The physicians that work at the Grandview Hospital are encouraging their community to speak up about their ambulance station closing.
The announcement was made by the PC government and Grandview is one of 23 stations to be closed.
Dr. Jim Rae, Physician at the Grandview Hospital, comments on how he and the other physicians are processing the news.
"We are all very upset, we think we provide excellent service here at the Grandview Hospital. We are one of 3 24/7 emergency departments in the Parkland region, there is Dauphin, Swan River and us. The idea you would take a effective paramedic service that saves lives on a weekly if not, daily basis and relocate it elsewhere is very upsetting to us."
An open public meeting has been scheduled in Grandview for August 15 at 7:00 p.m. at the Grandview Kinsmen Community Centre and another meeting for August 16 at the Tootinaowazibeeng First Nation Reserve at 1:00 p.m.
