Riding Mountain National Park will be holding a Heritage Hockey Game this Saturday in commemoration of Canada's 150th birthday.

The hockey game will honour the 1933 Relief Camp All Stars team made up of players from various work camps around the lake and surrounding communities.

According to Visitor Experience Manager at RMNP Dave Tovell, hockey enthusiasts may recognize one of those players.

"Walter Turk Broda played goal for the Clear Lake All Stars and he went on to play an illustrious career with the Toronto Maple Leafs."

Broda has been named one of the greatest 100 NHLers of all time.

RMNP says the 1933 Relief Camp Allstars also played a hockey game on Clear Lake on Februray 11th of that year.

There are other activities planned over the weekend as well, including a guided snowshoe trek to a bear den (that isn't currently in use).
