Two credit unions in the Parkland are proposing to merge together as one.
The board of directors of Rorketon & District Credit Union and Catalyst Credit Union have agreed on a proposal to amalgamate.
According to CEO Ron Hedley of Catalyst Credit Union, merger talks had only just recently begun.
"The boards of Rorketon and Catalyst Credit Union have agreed to take a proposal to amalgamate... it just did come up recently, our boards started to talk and decided it might be in the best interest to both credit unions to form an alliance."
Members of the Rorketon credit union will vote on the proposal on January 16th. If approved the amalgamation will take effect April 1st, 2017.
