A Saskatoon man who was charged with manslaughter in relation to an incident that happened in Winkler, is scheduled to appear in court today.
29-year-old Justin Leslie Bird who was charged after a violent assault on September 24th leading to the death of 25-year-old Zachary Straughan, is also facing charges of aggravated assault and possession of a controlled substance.
Police say, Straughan was hit with a pool cue several times at the Valley Bowling Lanes in Winkler, after an argument over an unpaid debt turned violent.
Straughan later died of his injuries at the Health Sciences Centre.
Police say Bird is in custody at the Winnipeg Remand Centre.
