Roughly two weeks ago, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Chinese Premier Li Keqiang announced that uninterrupted and stable canola trade between the countries will continue until 2020.
 
The decision comes after recent uncertainty around canola seed exports from Canada to China. 
 
Local MP for Dauphin - Swan River - Neepawa, Robert Sopuck says uncertainty had dropped prices immediately. 
 
"Anything that creates uncertainty in markets, has the opportunity to reduce prices dramatically and we saw a few weeks ago when this issue first hit when the Chinese were threatening to curtail imports of our canola that the prices dropped immediately."
