Warning

You may not notice because of the severe thunderstorm, but a greyish haze has filled the skies of Dauphin because of a wildfire.

Yesterday, smoke was seen in Southern Saskatchewan from a wildfire in northern Montana carrying over into the Canadian Prairies.

Warning Preparedness Meteorologist for Environment Canada, Natalie Hasell says a specific pressure system is causing the haze to move east.

She added, "This has to do with a low pressure system... the circulation around the low pressure center in the northern hemisphere is counter clockwise."

Alongside the smoke moving east, a severe thunderstorm watch is currently in effect for the areas of Dauphin, Russell, Roblin and Winnipegosis. It is advised that residents take the necessary safety precautions in dealing with the active storm.
