Highways 1 and 6 are getting up to $53-million between them for upgrades.
The money is coming from both the federal and provincial governments.
The province says the money will go towards making the roads safer and wider, and prolonging their life.
Each government will contribute up to $16.5-million to the PTH 1 East rehabilitation project and each will contribute up to 10 million dollars for the PTH 6 project.
