After sixteen long years Dauphin will once again host the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Musical Ride.
The Musical ride originated from the North West Mounted Police in 1874, after officers used the drills and accompanying music to entertain themselves during the evening or while off duty.
Brenda Boyd who is a Director for the Dauphin Ag Society says they have been bidding for this opportunity for quite some time. She added, "Usually they do two provinces every four years, and this year it happened to be Manitoba's turn."
Residents of Dauphin can visit the RCMP horse stables behind Credit Union Place beginning Wednesday, July 6th.
