Strong winds tonight are expected to raise the water level of Dauphin Lake by up to five feet along the shoreline, which has prompted both the provincial government and RM of Lakeshore to send warnings out.
The provincial government put out an Immediate Evacuation Requirement for Rainbow Beach Provincial Park Campsites. They are telling people to remove all equipment and camping units.
The RM of Lakeshore is telling residents to find alternate accommodations or be prepared to evacuate, as water levels could cause access to properties to be cut off. If residents choose to find alternate accommodations, they're asked to contact the municipal office at 204-733-2423 to advise that they have done so.
