A 23-year-old woman has been arrested in Portage la Prairie after two collisions in one day.
On April 8th at around 1:30 p.m. Portage la Prairie RCMP responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Highway 1.
Witnesses said that the driver of a black vehicle was speeding and passing vehicles on a double solid line. The driver was exiting the city eastbound onto Highway 1 when she failed to yield and collided with a semi-trailer.

Officers located the driver and she was arrested without incident.
Police say the driver had been involved in another collision earlier in the day, where she failed to stop and fled the scene.
Rebecca Contois has been charged with Operation of a Conveyance While Impaired by Drugs, Refusal to Comply with a Drug Demand, Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance, Failure to Remain at the Scene of an Accident x2 and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.
