Public health officials announced 59 new cases of COVID-19 and two more deaths in Manitoba today.
Today's deaths include two women in their 40's - one from the Southern health region and one from the Northern health region.
Three new cases of variants of concern have been reported today, all of which are in Winnipeg. The total number of variant cases in the province is 270.
Today’s new COVID-19 cases are in the following health regions:
• one case in the Interlake-Eastern health region
• 16 cases in the Northern health region;
• seven cases in the Prairie Mountain Health region
• three cases in the Southern Health–Santé Sud health region
• 32 cases in the Winnipeg health region
There have been a total of 34,174 cases identified in Manitoba since the start of the pandemic.
There are 1,179 active cases and 32,058 people who have recovered from COVID-19.
There are 65 people in hospital with active COVID-19 and 83 people who are no longer infectious but continue to require care, for a total of 148 hospitalizations.
There are 12 people in intensive care units with active COVID-19 and 18 people who are no longer infectious but continue to require critical care, for a total of 30 ICU patients.
The total number of deaths in people with COVID-19 in Manitoba is 937.
According to the province’s data, there are active cases of COVID-19 in the following Parkland health districts: Dauphin (0), Riding Mountain (1), Duck Mountain (1), Porcupine Mountain (28), Asessippi (0). Brandon has 3 active cases.
In the Interlake, the Eriksdale/Ashern health district has no active cases of COVID-19. Fisher/Peguis health district has five active cases.
