It’s time for the two Parkland teams in the league to go to battle. For the first time this season, the Kings and Stampeders hook up in a regular-season contest. And the Stampeders are in chase mode.
They enter the contest nine points behind Dauphin in the standings. The Stampeders have had no trouble scoring this season with 61 goals; however, defensively they have struggled at times with 63 goals against.
The Kings; meanwhile, have taken care of business both offensively and defensively. Their 61 goals for are near the top of the league, but it’s been the team’s defence that has really propelled the team to a fantastic start. With just 37 goals against, Dauphin has given up the third-fewest in the league.
Dauphin beat Waywayseecappo in three of four contests over the past two weekends while Swan Valley enters after a four-game split against Virden.

As mentioned, ticket sales are well underway and already they’re flying off the shelves.

You can also get in on the Lawn Tractor draw for just $20 per ticket.
“This is a massive fundraiser for the team and we appreciate everyone that supports us, it does mean a lot, ended Husband.

Nearly five decades after he first called a Winnipeg Blue Bombers game, Bob Irving is set to hang up his mic in a few weeks.
The iconic Winnipeg sportscaster has announced his last game in the booth will be the team's final home game of the season, their appearance in the CFL's West Division Final on December 5 at IG Field.
Irving -- who's nickname is "Knuckles" -- started at 680 CJOB in 1973 and was named the voice of the team one year later and in all, he's called more than 800 games. He's been inducted into the Blue Bomber Football Hall of Fame, the Canadian Football Hall of Fame, the team's media centre is named after him and he was appointed to the Order of Manitoba.
Irving says it wasn't an easy decision but it was the right one, being 71-years-old.
"There are mixed emotions, I'll be leaving something that I still enjoy doing," said Irving. "My wife and I would just like to have control over our schedule all year round. I just believe this is a good time to step aside."
Ahead of a game against the Montreal Alouettes this Saturday, Winnipeg has been the class of the CFL. After dropping a game in Week 3 against Toronto, Winnipeg has caught fire and is rolling on all cylinders. Paired with two wins to start their season, the Bombers have won nine games in a row as they're 11-1. The team has scored 335 points, the most in the league which is impressive, but it's their defence that has yielded the most talk. Winnipeg has given up just 147 points, that's 63 fewer points than any other team in the league.
Winnipeg has outscored their opponents, 116-6, in the fourth quarter alone this season. When Bob was asked if he thinks this is the best Blue Bombers team he has ever seen, it's hard to say no.
"It's a very special team and it's been fun to call their games," said Irving. "It's definitely one of the best teams I have seen. The way this team has dominated defensively and found a way to put up a lot of points as well, it's completely dominating."
Here's a great moment with Bob and Andrew Harris.
We’ll miss moments like this @BobIrvingCJOB 😢😂pic.twitter.com/kgyXIZu8AE

If Winnipeg were to advance to the Grey Cup, Bob's broadcasting career will include four more games. One of which is this Saturday when the team plays the Alouettes and you can hear that game right here on 730CKDM with Bob and Doug Brown at 12:00 p.m.
And when it comes to retirement, Bob is looking forward to some travelling with his wife.
"One of the highlights will be having the summers to ourselves, when you're covering football in Canada, you don't really get that chance," said Irving. "I'll miss being at the field but I'm really looking forward to spending more days in the summer with my wife."
