Another former Dauphin King is climbing his way up the ranks.

Duncan McGovern will head to the NHL Draft this year as the 24th ranked North American goalie in the final Central Scouting Rankings.

"It's definitely a pretty cool feeling," said McGovern. "It's rewarding. It's not something that you focus on much, but it's a good feeling."

McGovern played a part of the 2016-17 season with the Kings, where he appeared in eight games.

"It was definitely a learning experience," said McGovern. "My 16-year-old year was a tough one for me, but I learned a lot in Dauphin. I drew a lot of knowledge from fellow players, and I learned how to play the game at a high level. My time in Dauphin definitely helped me get out of a struggle."

With the Ice this season, he played in 34 games and had a 3.10 G.A.A, to go along with a .893 save percentage.

"My plan is definitely to be back with the Ice next year," said McGovern. "And, just improving and continuing to get better. It's a great organization, so hopefully, we can have a better year next year, and make a push for a Championship in the near future."

With his 13 wins for the Ice this season, McGovern had the most wins between the pipes for the team.

The NHL Draft this year is in Dallas from June 22-23.
