The Manitoba High School Athletic Association Curling Provincial Championships kick off on Thursday, and Dauphin's Nolan Hadway and his team will be there.

The foursome qualified for the event a couple weeks back and will represent Zone 8.

"We qualified last year as well," said Skip Nolan Hadway.  "So we're definitely really excited to go back."

Last year the Hadway rink made it all the way to the finals, but ended up falling against Miles Macdonell, to place second.

"We're obviously hoping to get back to the finals," said Hadway.  "All of us are super-excited, so if we use our excitement and play the way we can, we feel we can make it back there."

The Championships are played at the Winkler and Morden Curling Clubs.

"I think we're going to look back at what we did wrong last year and take some notes, and hopefully come back stronger," said Hadway.  "It's definitely a really tough field."

Hadway and the rest of his foursome play their first game against Steinbach Christian, and could meet Miles Macdonell in the A-Side Semifinals, if both rinks win their first two games.

"I'm really looking forward to the event," said Hadway.  "It's just going to be fun going out on the ice, and having fun with the guys."

On the women's side, Emma Jensen and her rink are also representing the Dauphin Clippers at the event.
