A decision to save the history of agriculture in Manitoba led to the development of the Manitoba Agricultural Hall of Fame in the late 1970s.
The hall of fame gallery can be found at the Keystone Centre in brandon, with their main office located at on the grounds of the Red River Exhibition just outside of Winnipeg/
Executive Director Garth Rogerson says there are approximately 190 inductees in the hall, and they are always looking to add more.
"It is getting harder because those memories are starting to get lost. We are putting the pressure on and asking people to dig deep. It is really easy to nominate someone, and hopefully we can grow that substantially."
The latest class of inductees were welcomed earlier this month.
They include Dr. Wayne Lees, Wayne Rempel with Lroeker Farms of Winkler, and Dr. Karin Wittenberg of the University of Manitoba.
