After Vermillion Park was closed this summer due to flooding, organizers of the annual Terry Fox run in the city had to find a new location for the event.
Fortunately, the City and Dauphin Rec Services stepped forward to allow yesterday's event to be held at the the track near the DRS grandstands.
Organizer Janice Barclay said they had a small but enthusiastic group that tokk part.
"I had a lot of people give me money, and say that they wished they could be there, but they were giving money and said they would be there in spirit. So, the people that actually could come, there was actually about 20. And some had been doing the run for over 20 years, and then some people were brand new this year."
Final numbers are still being crunched, but Barclay figures they will be close to four thousand dollars raised once everything is counted.
