This year's Parkland U18 Rangers Ukrainian Night was a massive success - both on and off the ice.
On the ice, the Rangers hammered Kenora 13-3.
Off the ice, around ten-thousand dollars was raised, according to organizer Ryan Rauliuk.
"That comes from the kubasaw toss, the tickets for the dance after the game that we sold, as well as the raffle and 50/50 held during the dance. And then the jersey auction, where we also give some money back."
Rauliuk says the proceeds will be given to Dauphin's two Ukrainian churches.
"Numbers for church are down, and financially there are a number of repairs - whether it is a roof that needs to be fixed, air conditioning or just general supplies that they need to get by day-to-day. My belief is the Ukrainian community started with the pillars in our community, which are the two churches - wether it is the Ukrainian Catholic or Ukrainian Orthodox church."
Rauliuk was very impressed with how the evening went, adding donations continued to pour in several days after the game.
