The 2026 World Cup is on it's way to Canada, at least for a few games.
It was confirmed earlier that the joint bid between the United States, Mexico, and Canada was successful.
60 of the 80 games will be hosted in the United States, meaning Canada will receive 10 and Mexico 10 as well.
How you can watch:
Although no games will be played in Winnipeg, a road trip may still be in order for you big soccer fans.
Games in Canada will be played in Toronto, Montreal, and Edmonton.
Distances:
Dauphin - Edmonton - 10hr 21m (1029 KM's).
Dauphin - Toronto - 24hr (2528 KM's).
Dauphin - Montreal - 28hr (2593 KM's).
Sure, Edmonton may be the closest, but with only five hours separating Toronto and Montreal, perhaps the chance of watching multiple games in two different cities is the best option.

Winning a scholarship during your high school years is a dream for most, but, for Ste. Rose's Kowan Kukurudz, it's a reality.
The 18-year-old was awarded one of just eight McDonalds Leadership Awards worth $1000.
"Oh, it mean's a lot," said Kukurudz. "It was awesome. It's a really cool experience, and it's really special to win."
Kowan's teacher sent in his application nominating him, but he had no thoughts of actually winning.
"I didn't expect it at all," he added. "I thought it was cool to be nominated, but I didn't think I would win it. Then, I got an email saying I won, and it was just so sweet. It was like a cherry on top of the cake."
He now plans on using the $1000 towards his tuition, as he plans to become a Chemistry teacher.
Most recently, Kowan took part in the High School Track & Field Championships in Winnipeg this past weekend, and the 18-year-old loved every minute of it.
"It was a ton of fun," said Kowan. "I've been really busy with school stuff, so I didn't train as much or do as well as I wanted, but it was a great experience."
The event was Kowan's final as a high school athlete, as he moves on to university in the fall, and he takes a look back at his years in high school playing sports and some of his favourite memories.
"Honestly playing sports and just meeting new people was amazing," said Kowan. "Going into grade 9, I was pretty shy, but sports brought me out of my shell. It just made me a better person, and I'm so thankful for the opportunities I've been given."
On top of excelling and giving it his all with sports during his high school years, Kowan maintained a 91% academic average.

It was quite the special day at the Clear Lake Golf Course yesterday.
McCain’s hosted a tournament in support of the Ronald McDonald House.

When Duck Bay's Daniel Chartrand first laced up his skates as a young boy, his goal was to play Jr. A hockey. Chartrand got that chance when he made his debut with the Dauphin Kings in the 2015-16 season.
Then, after three years of Jr. A hockey, Chartrand's new goal was he wanted to play college hockey in the states. Well, Daniel's two for two. He's committed to play with the Northland College Lumberjacks (NCAA Division 3) for the upcoming season. The Lumberjacks are based in Ashland, Wisconsin.
"It means the world to me," said Chartrand. "I can't thank all the people that helped me along the way, especially my parents. I wouldn't be here without them. It's going to be a blast playing there, and I can't wait for it to start."
"Ever since I was a little kid, my goal was to get an education and play hockey down south," he added. "I didn't really expect it to actually happen. I just put my head down and worked extra hard so I could achieve my goals."
Daniel's family has played a big part in his success to this date, and one of the main reasons he chose Northland was also because of his family.
"When I sat down with Coach Seamus, he just seemed like a guy I wanted to play for," said Chartrand. "He's a friend first, and a coach second. It's also close to home, and my friend Shane Roulette, who I played with at a young age and with Swan Valley also committed, which was a selling point."
Being it just 11-hours away, Daniel's pumped up that his family will be able to come for a weekend and watch some of his games.
"It's not that far from home, and family is really everything to me," he added. "They can come down and watch anytime, so that was the main thing for sure."
The Duck Bay native is coming off a season in which he spent time with three different teams. To start off, he played for the OCN Blizzard and was very impressive with 21 points (10 G) in 20 games.
He then went on to play for the La Ronge Ice Wolves in the SJHL for eight games and put up three more points. Finally, he ended up with the Swan Valley Stampeders and added another 12 points there in 23 regular season games, and four in four playoff games.
Overall, since starting his Jr. A career with the Dauphin Kings, Chartrand had 75 points in 162 games. Heading into his first season of college hockey, Chartrand knows it's going to be tough, but he's hoping he can translate the success he had in Canada to the United States.
"I'm striving to for sure," said Chartrand. "It's going to be a different game because it's down in the states, and you're playing against older and bigger players. But, hopefully, I can have the same success that I did this past season."
"I just need to go out there and play every game like it's my last," he added. "When I'm at Northland, I can't forget where I'm from (Duck Bay), and I need to walk around with pride. It's all about enjoying things, and giving it my all."
Although Daniel made a few stops after the Dauphin Kings in his Jr. A days, his favourite memory came when he was a King.
"I scored a shootout winner against the Winnipeg Blues," he added. "I got my first ever hard-hat as a Jr. A player after that game. They gave me the puck, and I gave it to my dad because he was there, and was so proud of me. I'll never forget that moment."

The Parkland Vipers Volleyball Camp is set for August 30-31, and the registration deadline is on Wednesday, June 20.
"Registrations have started heating up in the last week or so," said Ted Rea, Coach. "But, we're still looking for some more in both age categories, and specifically girls in grade eight and nine."
The camp will feature two groups:
Grade 6 & 7 - 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Grade 8 & 9 - 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
The fee to take part is $75, which includes both sessions and a T-Shirt.
Former Canadian women's team members Tammy Silworsky, and Kathy Preston will be the two instructors.
"If you played U-12 with the Vipers this past year, or if you're just looking to learn the game, this is a great camp," said Rea. "It's a great opportunity to get some practice in before the fall season begins. Volleyball is such a great sport, and this is going to be a great camp."

730CKDM is once again the place to be for Winnipeg Blue Bombers action this summer.
We're once again a part of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers Radio Network and will broadcast all 18 regular season games.

The Bombers first game is set for this Thursday when they welcome the Edmonton Eskimos to IGF. Kickoff is set for 7:30.

His career is far from over, but, Minnedosa`s Ron Shewchuk is now a part of Baseball Manitoba`s Hall of Fame.
He was formally inducted into the hall on June 2.
"It's a great feeling," he added. "It's recognition that I've made some contribution to baseball in Manitoba. It's also recognition of both my on the field and off-field contributions."
Shewchuk has been an umpire since 1980, and he wasn't sure when he would get inducted, but he had a good feeling he would be.
"When you start, you don't even expect to get inducted," he said. "As the years went on and some of the things I did, it didn't come as a total surprise. I thought somewhere down the line I would be, but I didn't know when, or at what point in my career I would be inducted."
Being an umpire has taken Ron just about everywhere. Some of his achievements include:
- Umped over 50 Provincial, MSBL, and Western Canadian Championships, and over 900 professional games.
- He's been the home plate or first base umpire in 13 National Championship gold medal games.
- Internationally, he's worked eight Championships, including the 2008 Beijing Olympics, and he's earned Baseball Manitoba and Baseball Canada Umpire of the Year Awards.
"Umpiring the Olympics was definitely a huge highlight of my career," he added. "I worked in front of 55,000 people in Cuba which was incredible. I've also met some great people and made some amazing friends during the whole run. It's been great."
Ron is still umpiring baseball, and is currently stationed in Regina and is a part of the Western Major Baseball League crew. His games are based out of Regina, Moose Jaw, and Weyburn predominantly.

The commitments for the Dauphin Kings continue to keep rolling in.
Earlier today, two Parkland Rangers have committed to the program.
The first is Evan Gullett.
Gullett:
He's suited up for the Rangers dating back to the 2014-15 season and has continued to improve every season. Last season in 47 games, the defender had 14 points. He also suited up in a game for the Kings during the regular season.
"He's a player who keeps it simple, and makes a good first pass," said Doug Hedley HC/GM for the Kings. "He's a good skater with some good speed, which gives him good mobility. He's a local guy, so hopefully, he can bring some people into the seats. We want him to be a guy who comes in every day as the 5th/6th guy, and if he moves up that's great."
The second commit is Recce Hopfner.
Hopfner:
Reece is coming off a tremendous season with the Parkland Rangers, his best since he began playing at the AAA level in the 2013-14 season. In 42 games, Hopfner was one of the team's leading scorers, with 36 points (10 G).
"He's got a very good skillset, and he's a guy who can score," said Hedley. "I think the physical part of his game got a lot better last year, and he finished the year strong. He's working out hard right now, and I know he's looking forward to playing next season."

With Gullet and Hofner committing, the Kings now have four different areas from the Parkland represented heading into Fall Camp (Gilbert Plains, Alonsa, Ste. Rose, Dauphin.)
"Anytime that you can add someone from the area that's going to bring fans into the rink, it's a great thing," Hedley added. "We used to have nine or 10 kids from around the area, and it just changes the dynamic around the arena. If the players are committed to coming in here and working, we're going to try to make them our top guys."

The Dauphin Rangers FC soccer team now have an even record.
They struggled yesterday in a 5-2 loss against Oldcastle United in Brandon.
Both teams will once again hook up in 13 days, when OU heads to Dauphin, for a 3:00 p.m. kickoff.
