The Dauphin Clippers are off to the Manitoba Rural Football League Championship Final this Saturday after they beat Southwest on Saturday afternoon in Dauphin in the League Semifinals, by a final score of 41-30.

The team now takes on the Moosomin Generals, who beat the Clippers 74-34 earlier this season, but last year it was the Clippers who came out on top when they won the Championship.

"It's been a good season so far, obviously our only blip coming against Moosomin," said Cam Bennet, Football Operations for the Clippers. "Moosomin has been preparing for this game, and it should be a very exciting Championship."

In their 40-point defeat earlier this season, the Generals overpowered the Clippers, but as Cam mentions, the Clippers can keep up with the Generals.

"We know that we can play with these guys," said Bennet. "In that game, we were pretty complacent. When Moosomin came out that game, they were fired up to play, and we didn't match their intensity.

The Clippers will head to the field on Saturday chasing their third straight Championship.

"We have a veteran team," said Bennet. "A lot of the grade 12's this year played in the Championship last year. This is not new territory for us. The guys are determined, and will definitely be ready to go."

Kick off on Saturday will be at 2:00 p.m. in Moosomin.

"We just need to take it one step at a time," said Bennet. "If we do that, good things will happen, we believe."
