Each month, the Canadian Football League names three players as the Shaw CFL Top Performers of the month, and for August, all three are Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
As if August weren`t good enough for the Bombers (4-0), running back Andrew Harris, quarterback Matt Nichols and defensive back Maurice Leggit were all named as the top performers for their contributions to the team.
Andrew Harris
In August, Harris rushed 45 times, for 330 yards, including two games when he ran for more than 100 yards (Weeks 8 and 9). Harris also had a season-high 120 yards in Week 9.
Matt Nichols
In August, Nichols completed 108 of 151 passes for 1,203 yards and seven touchdowns against only one interception. He also added eight rushes for 64 yards and another score and has a league-best QUAR rating of 88.9.
Maurice Legget
Legget returned to the lineup in Week 7, and it didn`t take long for him to make his presence felt. He had 19 tackles and three quarterback sacks in August. Leggett also forced three fumbles over the four-week span, tying him for the league-lead with Hamilton’s Larry Dean and Toronto’s Victor Butler.
