The Dauphin Kings organization unveiled their Ag Project and Sign today.

The project is 152 acres of soybeans, just north about 2.5 miles outside of Dauphin.

Gary, his wife Liz, and his son, Cory Sydor have donated their land for the project.

“We got this going early this spring, “said Sydor. “This is to help the Dauphin Kings organization.”

By donating their land, the Sydor’s will forfeit any profit for the next quarter in order to help the Kings.

“It’s their 50th anniversary,” said Sydor. “We have a big arena in town, and kids that play hockey around town always want to become a Dauphin King. We have some of the best fans, and we just need more in the seats. But this project is going to help the Kings travel, get equipment and a lot more.

The Dauphin Kings budget for a hockey season is roughly $500,000.

“This project is huge, and will contribute roughly 10% to that $500,000 budget,” said Dean Cooley, Finance/Business Operations for the Dauphin Kings. “For any business to have an extra 10% revenue in any given year is fantastic, and full marks to Gary and Ray for setting this up, and of course all the people who have supported the project.”

If you would like to donate or get involved in this project in any aspect, you can contact the Kings Office for further details at 204-622-5461.
