Gilbert Plains Colby Robak has had quite the season with the AHL's Utica Comets.
The blue-liner now in the Vancouver Canucks organization won the team's best defenceman award as well as the Class Guy award, which is selected by the coaching staff.

He talks about winning the awards.

"It was huge, and somewhat unexpected, being a late signing here. It's a great group of guys, it could have went to anybody. We're having a good year, we're still in our playoff push so hopefully that plays itself out, but it was a huge honor and I'm happy to be part of a great organization.

Robak feels he's been playing some of his best hockey, and hopes it translates to a road back to the NHL

"If I keep playing the way that I'm playing, hopefully I find my way back there. I know what it takes to get to the NHL, but it's one of those things; it's one thing to get there, but it's another thing to stay there. I think taking what I've learned over the last couple of years, I think I've been playing some of the best Hockey I've played in a while, and I think that's just developing as a pro, and learning to be a pro, so hopefully this carries through and something happens in the future."

Robak has NHL experience with the Florida Panthers and Anaheim Ducks, and is currently in the Vancouver Canucks organization.

With 9 games to go in the season, Robak's Comets are 3 points out of a playoff spot, and have 3 games to play this weekend.
