The Grandview Senior Lakers baseball team is making a comeback this upcoming season.
Grandview Recreation Director, Jill Wiebe, has collected the history of the Grandview Senior Lakers.
"There is quite a few (famous players), when I look up on the Manitoba Baseball Hall of Fame. The two that (stuck out) is Tony Kalechyn, he was inducted in 2002. Then there is also Johnny Wilson, and that is where are Wilson Centennial Park is named after him."
Wiebe, says the significance of baseball in the community is quite noticeable.
"Grandview, I think, is a big Baseball town. Our Grandview Minor Ball is always booming, and when we have the Grandview Lakers Senior team, I think we use the big set of bleachers there in our grounds, and they're always full, and it was more of an outing and just lots of support for the Grandview Lakers Senior team."
