For the second straight year, Allan McDonald has hoisted the championship trophy. Golf Manitoba's men's mid-amateur championship ended on Friday.

McDonald, who won the event last year at the Minnedosa Golf & Country Club, took him this year's title at the St. Charles Golf & Country Club. He shot a final round of 1-under, 71, to win the event by two strokes over Eric Johnson.

After starting the event with a 75, McDonald caught fire, shooting 68 in round two, and 71 in Friday's final round. He will compete in the national mid-amateur championship later this summer.

Taylor Fletcher of McCreary put together another solid round, however, it wasn't enough to get inside the top 10. His 76 saw him drop seven spots to finish in a tie for 20th. Derek Benson of McCreary shot a 77 on Friday and finished in a tie for 50th.

Curtis Markusson won the mid-masters championship at 1-over while Addison Kartusch won the women's amateur championship.
