It's one of the best scrambles of the summer. It's played at one of the best courses in the province.

It's back this July. The sixth annual Parkland Source for Sports Battle for the Belts runs on July 20 at the Gilbert Plains Country Club. It's a two-person scramble, open to players of all skill levels. It's $80 per player and $160 per team.

That includes your round, a chance at great prizes, and a hearty meal. Whether you're a scratch golfer or just getting into the sport, this event is for you. Last year, Chad Facey and Shawn McQuarrie took home the title.

"It's just a fun day on the golf course. We have a great meal, equal flights, there are great prizes, and closest to the pin," said Danny Scott, organizer. "We have a $10,000 hole-in-one from the Love and Persson group. It's open to anyone, all skill levels. Just a great day on the course, and we look forward to hosting you."

Proceeds from the event will go directly to improvements at the Country Club. Danny, Chris Todoruk, and the crew have already enhanced the experience at the golf club.

"We have that beautiful sign at the front welcoming everyone to the club," ended Scott. "We put some money into the Event Centre. We sponsored a piano night. We've also helped with renovations on the patio out front. We're looking forward to raising some more money to enhance the experience at the club even more."

If you're interested in teeing it up, you must pre-pay. You can do so at the Country Club. You can text Danny at 204-572-7552. You can also text Chris at 204-648-7989.
